SharePoint Saturday, San Antonio (November 14)

By Jim Adcock

SharePoint Saturday is coming to San Antonio in November.

SharePoint Saturday is an educational, informative & lively day filled with sessions from respected SharePoint professionals & MVPs, covering a wide variety of SharePoint-orientated topics.  SharePoint Saturday is FREE, open to the public and is your local chance to immerse yourself in SharePoint!  There will be multiple presentation tracks, each aimed at a different audience - for example, IT professionals and SharePoint users, SharePoint Developers, and SharePoint Administrators.

The event is being put on by the San Antonio SharePoint User Group(SASUG), and I went to the meeting of the SASUG Executive Committee today to find out about the plans and get involved by helping out any way I can.

It is early yet in the planning, but based on what’s already in the works, this is going to be a fantastic event, especially since this is going to be one of the first major SharePoint events after the SharePoint 2010 details are revealed.

We already have a few very cool speakers tentativley lined up (some of whom I have heard speak before, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again), and there will be a call for speakers and sponsors shortly to firm up the list of presenters and fill the open slots.

There will also be SharePint, the social part of any major SharePoint event, most likely to be held on the San Antonio Riverwalk, not far from the event location.

One of my goals is to get out the bullhorn and make sure everyone knows that this is coming, so what happened to me won’t happen to you – SharePoint Saturday Dallas is this weekend and I didn’t know about it, and it’s too late to add it to my schedule!  I am bummed!

So if you are a SharePoint developer, administrator, or user, or even if you’re just curious about what all the fuss is about, plan to be in San Antonio on November 14th.
